Building Resilience - Skills for Growth and Healing: A Mind Body Workshop @ The Jung Center
In the face of life’s adversities, we often find ourselves challenged to grow in new ways. Meeting that challenge takes resilience to choose the path of new growth and resist the natural urge to shrink or hide. While some people seem to be born with a little extra “grit,” we can all build resilience by adding practices that help us cope with setbacks, heartbreak, loss, anxiety and trauma.
Certified Mind Body Medicine Practitioner Becky Dodds will lead an evening of exploration as she and other trained facilitators with the Center for Mind Body Medicine introduce practices that support healing, growth, and the resilience we each need to continue life’s journey with joy and vigor.
Doors open: 5:30 pm
Social: 6 pm (light bites)
Speakers: 6:30 – 8 pm
The cost to attend is $20.  Click here to register.

This evening is brought to you by the Community for Conscious Aging (CCA) with special thanks to The Jung Center and Healing Circles Houston.

See What’s Happening Around Town

CCA has added a new component to its website. If you click Around Town on the menu at the top of the site, you’ll find events, happenings, and lectures around town whose topics are aging and its challenges and graces. For example, The Jung Center is offering an online course called The Archetypal Journey of Aging while the Weekley Family YMCA has an extensive roster for older active adults.

Save the Date: July 20
CCA will present The Jung Center’s Dr. Alejandro Chaoul in a talk about Meditation and Aging. Chaoul is currently a faculty member in the Integrative Medicine Program of MD Anderson Cancer Center, the author of two books, and heads The Jung Center’s Mind Body Spirit Institute.
