The Greater Houston Healing Collaborative, is pleased to host this FREE Mind-Body group program conducted in Portuguese to those affected by hurricane Harvey. This Mind-Body Skills Group is part of the Greater Houston Healing Collaborative initiative and is made possible through a grant from the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. The group design follows the model of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine to build resilience and reduce the impact in ourselves of traumatic events.
These sessions will be be held at the Healing Circles Houston at 1100 Milford just west of Montrose and will be held Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon and Fridays from noon to 2:00 p.m. through February 2nd.
The sessions will be both educational and experiential, with practices including meditation, guided imagery, art, movement and mindful eating. Space is limited to 10 participants on a first-come-first-serve basis who are able to attend the whole program. Sessions will be led by CMBM trained facilitator Maria Alice Viegas Papanicolau, as volunteer work.
