Building Resilience Post-Harvey at Bellaire United Methodist Church @ Bellaire United Methodist Church | Bellaire | Texas | United States

As we welcome a new year, our community continues to recover both physically and emotionally from the impact of Hurricane Harvey.  Bellaire United Methodist Church and the Houston Healing Collaborative, is pleased to host a FREE 8-week Mind-Body Workshop to those affected by the storm. This Mind-Body Skills Group is made possible through a generous grant from the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund and follows the model of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine to build resilience and reduce the impact of traumatic events.

These two-hour sessions will be both educational and experiential, with practices including meditation, guided imagery, art, and mindful movement, with the healing support of the group. Space is limited to 10 participants who are able to attend the 8-week series.  Sessions will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bellaire United Methodist Church, January 30th – March 20th, and will be led by CMBM trained facilitators David Spaw and Edward Halloran of the Healing Circles Houston Core Team.

If you are interested in participating in this training, please contact David Spaw at or Ed Halloran at  To find out more about this program and others like it being offered around the city of Houston you may email
